After playing in my grandfather's wood shop as a kid and learning from my step father, who was a carpenter, I began my carpentry career in 1994 at the age of 19. I was privileged to do a full 3 yr. apprenticeship building custom homes under my very competent mentor, Randy Johnson in Berwick, PA. The next seven years were spent building custom homes, with a personal passion for interior finish carpentry, in FL and NC.
After a decade on the job site, I took off my tool belt and started the cabinet making leg of my career. I spent the next 5 years building high end wooden and commercial laminate cabinets in the Charlotte, NC area, as well as all aspects of finish carpentry, some custom furniture and even a few custom RV interiors. Meanwhile, I was developing my own workspace at home to develop the skills I would need for a future chapter of my carpentry career.
In 2010 I joined the film industry as a "Propmaker." Since then I have built scenery, sets, and props for over 50 film productions. Starting in film as a journeyman carpenter, I have been a part of so many unique building projects in an industry that thrives on artistic development. The last 7 years has been spent building doors, windows, copying all sorts of things for camera and of course cabinets in "The Mill," custom film shop.
In 2021 my family and I relocated to central MA, to a property with a 1500 sq/ft outbuilding, a good sized shop for me. After a couple years of setting up electricity and organizing the work space, my shop is fully functional. I am still a prop maker and will retire as one, but in my personal time I'm working to build a reputation that will lead to success in my next chapter as a quality furniture maker of heirloom pieces that will remain in families for generations.
